Meet Abbey,
Abbey was born and raised in Ottawa and grew up surrounded by art. All she’s ever wanted was to draw all the time and have a career doing what she loved - art. She started drawing tattoo designs for friends and doing art commissions at a young age and has wanted to become a tattoo artist ever since. She is extremely passionate about creating art and puts her all into every piece she makes.
Abbey went to college to study architecture and took the architectural technologist program at Algonquin. She currently works for an engineering firm when she’s not with us in the shop, but one day soon will be living the dream of being a full time artist.
She started her apprenticeship under Mariah Landers in August 2022 and graduated to junior artist in July 2023. She is tremendously grateful to be able to tattoo for the community and can’t wait to continue her journey with Obscura!
She is certified in blood borne pathogens, cross-contamination prevention, and trauma-informed tattooing.
Abbey loves many art styles but mainly works with strong illustrative designs and fine line work in black and grey. She has a background in technical drawing and loves detailed projects with botanical, anatomical and animal themes.
